I went for a little autumn holiday to Finland in the beginning of the month and it was definitely a much needed break from my London routines and the busyness of life in general. I was actually pretty lucky with the weather, at least on the occasions when I ventured out (I spent a lot of time under covers too, listening to music…) and managed to be a tourist and see my friends in equal measures. It was a really relaxed holiday – I hadn’t booked too many things in but still managed to do enough in order to not feel lethargic either – the perfect balance! Helsinki was in full autumnal spirit, with all of nature’s beautiful colours on display, which just made me fall in love with my hometown just that little bit more – if it’s even possible!
I’ve been quite the tourist in London this month too. With the days getting shorter and darker, I only really have time to take pictures during the weekends which means I’ve been taking full advantage of my Saturdays and Sundays lately. I’ve been walking around Little Venice, Southwark & Fitzrovia and explored the little back streets too, finding lots of new things and places I never knew existed!
Okay, I think you might be in the verge of getting bored of me talking about Sunday roasts already, right? It was cute at first as I’d never had one before but after a few gushing posts I’m sure it might get a bit repetitive… Well, I swear (maybe) that this one is the last one – at least for a while! I’ve had few lovely Sundays this month with my friends, exploring London and having a roast in a nice pub, and I think I finally understand what the whole thing stands for – it’s all about that comfort food and spending time with wonderful friends, catching up and putting the world to rights over a lovely drink. Sounds like it would go very well with that whole hygge trend that’s sweeping the nation at the moment too, doesn’t it?
Peter Doherty (you’ll probably know him as the other half of The Libertines) surprised everyone (well, me anyway!) and released new single material a while back and I’ve had the song I don’t love anyone (but you’re not just anyone) pretty much on repeat for the entire month. It’s such a beautiful song and I’m so happy Peter’s (I sound like I know him, don’t I? I wish!) back with new material. Me and my friend Sandra are going to see him play live in the beginning of December in Kentish Town Academy – I can’t wait!
What were your favourite things about October? I’m already so excited to see what November has in store – I’m getting pretty excited about Christmas already too!
