As I mentioned in my previous Small pleasures post, me and my boyfriend Jim went for citybreak to Rome this week and had the most wonderful time. We ate amazing food (honestly, I didn’t have one bad meal during the entire trip!), walked so many miles and fell in love with the city’s colourful architecture. I can’t wait to visit again!
I think my favourite restaurant in London has to be Boqueria in South London. I try to visit new restaurants as often as I can, but something draws me into this place time and time again. They have the best patatas bravas I’ve ever had (although these ones at Brindisa were very close) and their pan con tomate is just divine. Much, much recommended!
As I’ve already said before, I’m a massive Christmas fan, so all the Christmas lights being lit up around the city this week makes me so, so happy. The Oxford Circus ones are beautiful and sophisticated as always, but I also love the quirky and colourful ones of Carnaby Street – they’re perfect for the area.
One of my best friends is French, and this Friday she invited me to a raclette party which is basically an excuse to eat copious amounts of melted cheese on top of different things like potatoes and brussels sprouts. I absolutely loved it and thought it was such a fun experience – I’m definitely a convert now! I also really want to try Fondue now… ALL the cheese!
