Top four things to do in London this June

Visit a rooftop bar

What screams summer and sunshine more than a good old rooftop bar? Luckily London is full of amazing ones, from fancy and sleek to more casual and quirky – here are just two of my favourites:

Pergola on the Roof, Paddington – This place is amazing! Full of greenery and flowers, Pergola Paddington has lots of different sections from a daybed area (yes!) to lots of different self-service restaurants and bars. It’s very, very pretty and always vibrant – I couldn’t recommend a visit here more! Check out my post on Pergola Paddington here.

Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch – This rooftop is open all year round from winter to summer and they have a different theme for each season – this summer it’s Lost Vegas which sounds so cool. They also host an array of special events such as sustainability workshops, headphone discos and rooftop yoga, as well as so much more. It’s definitely something a bit different!

StrEAT Life food festival @ Alexandra Palace

I’ve been meaning to go to this event for ages but for some reason I keep forgetting! Well, it’s in my calendar for this month – here’s hoping I can actually remember this time! StrEAT Life is a food and culture festival in North London’s Alexandra Palace with lots of street food trucks selling amazing food (with vendors such as Arancina, Guasacaca and The Waffle Float) as well as amazing drinks from craft beer to a tiki bar selling cocktails.

StrEAT Life is not just about the food and drink, though. Every event has music performances and/or DJ sets from amazing musicians, and in June you can enjoy a DJ set from Edwin Congreave from the rock band Foals – and the best thing is that it’s all for free!

In June, StrEAT Life will take place on the 23rd and 24th of June – don’t miss it!

World Gin Day

As we have already established many times over on this blog, there’s a ‘national day’ for everything. The next one coming up (tomorrow, in fact!) is the World Gin Day and there’s lots happening in London for it. I already went and tried out a bunch of different gin and tonics at an original London Gin Palace, The Viaduct Tavern, last week, so that’s definitely one great place to head to if you want to celebrate this great occasion – they have a massive selections of different gins!

Elsewhere in London there’s lots to do as well – Drink Up London has teamed up with London Gin Day and will provide hardcore gin fans a pass for £10 which will entitle you for £6 gin cocktails in 75 different London bars as well as a first look access into different parties and pop-ups happening around town, such as pink gin afternoon tea in a vintage doubledecker or a gin tour organised by Mr Foggs!

Gelato Festival in Covent Garden

What would summer be without ice cream?! Luckily we don’t have to find out, as Gelato Festival is bringing Italy’s finest into London on the 23rd and 24th of June. With a £15 ticket you’ll be able to try out all of the flavours, as well as take part in different events such as gelato making classes! The festival will have up to 16 chefs, each creating a unique flavour just for the festival, of which you can then vote for your favourite – last years winner was a ‘Scottish Raspberry Sorbet’, yum!
