This will probably be my last France/Italy holiday post – sniff! Seeing as so much has happened since I came back, these photos feel like a very distant memory now, even though it’s actually only been about a month!
We didn’t spend a very long time in Nice, and to be honest, I wasn’t massively impressed. That said, I didn’t really get a proper chance to actually explore the city, and I feel like maybe I didn’t really give it a proper chance. I only spent one day there, and all that time I was basically just already super excited about going to Italy, which wasn’t very fair to France.
My main memory of Nice is that it was pretty difficult to find food that was both gluten-free (for my friend who’s a celiac) and vegetarian (for me). We had two meals in France: one of them was in a slightly dodgy Indian takeaway and the other in an American bar, which probably says something. Nice is also quite expensive, which is good to keep in mind if you’re travelling that way.
I did love some parts of the city too, mainly the gorgeous architecture. I couldn’t stop taking photos of all the buildings, especially the famous Negresco Hotel on the beach boulevard which was just gorgeous. I also really liked the old town with its little winding streets and colourful buildings and wished I’d had more time to explore this part of the city more.
How beautiful is that hotel?!
A super cute piazza, just next to the old town.
The little streets of the old town with its colourful buildings.
Have you ever visited somewhere you were a little disappointed by? And would you ever go back to give it a second chance?
